  1. I am predicting the Rangers in 6 games… I think that St. Louis will struggle with the power arms that Texas possesses.

State your predictions… What do you think?

  2. St. Louis is destined this year, for whatever reason… I’ll predict the Cardinals in 7

  3. Rangers in 5 to finish it up at home. It will all come down to if the rangers hitters stay hot and if they can get anything out of the starters the bullpen will shut it down

  4. You are down “Rangers Fan”… If they win in 5 games, email me your address and I will send you a NatsGM prize for participating and commenting in this poll. Same goes for you “Nats Fan”, Thanks!

  5. Put me down for St. Louis winning in 6 games… with two outstanding Chris Carpenter starts spurring them to the championship.

  6. Texas in six (although I’d prefer a Cardinals victory). Compare the teams position by position:

1B – Cards superior, although if/when Texas starts Napoli or Young there it isn’t as much Cardinals superiority as you’d necessarily expect.
    2B – Texas, significantly.
    SS – Texas, significantly.
3B – Call if even (assuming Freese’s hot streak continues)
C – Napoli (offensively, but that’s where this series will be decided).
    OF – Texas.
SP – Call it even given the uneven performance by both staffs throughout the playoffs.
RP (including closer) – Even again, but at a higher level than starting pitching.

Baseball can be a streaky game and streaks can shift quickly, but if you assume some continuity from the earlier playoff series, Texas just has a bit too much offensive punch for the Cardinals. LaRussa can’t keep using his bullpen the way he did against the Brewers — a collapse is coming. Again, I’d love to see the Cards win, but objectively I think the Rangers will take them fairly easily.
