7-Word Scouting Report:     Projectable Raw Athlete, Potential 4th/5th Outfielder, Sleeper

Drafted by the Washington Nationals in the 17th round in 2014 from Princeton University, the 23-year-old Alec Keller is a lithe, projectable athlete with obvious athleticism and quality speed. Listed at 6-2 200lbs, Keller still has physical projection remaining with the potential to add 8-10 pounds of muscle as he matures.

This season Keller has blossomed for the Nationals, hitting .302/.346/.396 with 18 extra base hits, though 0 home runs, and 8 stolen bases in 61 games in Hagerstown. This performance forced his promotion to High-A Potomac, where he has continued to hit, posting a .285/.337/.349 batting line over 51 games played.

The skin is then redraped, and the quantity of men who endure with erection issues tadalafil generic india and the following relationship challenges that frequently go as an inseparable unit. Offensively Keller is a left-handed hitter possessing noticeable bat speed plus loose and quick wrists. His swing does show some length to it, though his bat-to-ball aptitude allows him to compensate for this thus far. Keller holds his hands above his head pre-swing and uses a large leg kick as a trigger mechanism for his swing.

Keller has yet to hit a professional home run, which is surprising considering his bat speed, reasonably lengthy swing and large arc of his swing. He does show home run power to his pull side during batting practice, but has yet to show more than “20” in-game raw. I feel there is potential for him to develop “30” power due to his projectable frame and quality hit tool, but I do not feel confident predicting more than a “45/30” hitter in the future.

In the field Keller is a quality fielder experienced and capable of playing all three outfield positions. He uses his average or slightly better speed and solid instincts to have excellent range at the corner spots, though his lack of elite speed gives him a fringy profile in center field. Keller has a solid-average, accurate arm with a relatively quick release, profiling well in left and center field but fringy in right. Overall Keller projects as an above-average defender in left field, an average to fringe-average defender in right, and stretched as a below to fringe-average centerfielder.

Though the odds are that he stagnates prior to the major leagues, in many ways Keller has already outplayed his draft pedigree as a 17th round senior sign. However, someone in the Nationals organization investigated the Ivy League thoroughly, as Keller can run, hit, throw and play three outfield positions.

If he can continue to gain mass and make some refinements to his swing, Keller has a chance to reach the big leagues as a versatile reserve outfielder. While this might sound slightly underwhelming, this has been a role Washington has struggled to fill since Roger Bernadina in 2012. Keller is a quality sleeper currently in the Nationals farm system and stands a reasonable chance of carving out a major league career.
