  1. Detroit probably “won” this trade as it got them out of all those years of a bad contract, but Texas probably “won” the original decision of whether to sign Prince back when he was a free agent. I think I saw that the net result of that signing was that Detroit paid well over $30M / year for the 2 years they got (without ever getting that WS win they seem so desperate for). Texas probably comes out ahead by waiting to get him at a somewhat more reasonable price.
    I like the fact that both teams are finding ways to move some of their potentially bad contracts to find a way to let their young prospects emerge.
